One of my favorite things about being a New York City photographer is meeting people with unexpected stories to tell.

For this environmental portrait photography assignment, I spent a couple of hours with Daniela, a corporate astrologer from Salzburg. In town for a multi-day conference, we partnered up to capture some fresh imagery for her website and social media. I had no idea corporate astrology was even a thing, but her business is thriving. I learned so much about how her clients utilize the astrological calendar to make decisions about everything from hiring and investing to communicating big ideas to their shareholders - hint, it should never happen while Mercury is in retrograde. Take a look at some of the images we captured during the two-hour session in and around Long Island City, Queens.
